About Us

Astitva Teens focuses on educating teens about their identities and LGBTQIA+ community and creating safe spaces within the schools. It is a step towards building a school culture that respects and accepts diversity in different identities.

The journey of Astitva Teen began in September 2023 when our founder, Sheryl Tayal, witnessed instances of discrimination and decided to take a step and create a change. There was a meeting scheduled with Mr. Keshav Suri, Executive Director of Lalit Hotels and Founder of Keshav Suri Foundation to discuss the issue and the difference we can make. Since then, we together as a team, have organized a gathering, panel discussion, engaged with several students and schools to create a lasting impact and make a change.

Astitva Teens focuses on helping allies of the community learn more and act to support the individuals who belong to the community. We educate the students about the community and how they can support the community by taking actionable steps.

Astitva Teens is dedicated to fostering a sense of belonging for LGBTQIA+ students and their allies by educating school communities on inclusivity, acceptance, and identity. We strive to create safe spaces, provide resources, and facilitate open dialogues to ensure that all students are treated with dignity and respect. Through our initiatives, we empower students to challenge prejudice, build a supportive community, and cultivate environments where every individual can thrive without fear of judgment and where diversity in different identities is openly expressed and celebrated.
